I haven't tried it yet (don't have room in the fridge yet! ) but I always like to try their brews, and it's an IPA, so I had to try it. It's rare these days when we get a new Rogue brew in. I too have been a Rogue fan for about two years now. The Pumpkin and the Yellow Snow have killed their perfection for me though :P Also, I didn't mean to set people up for failure with this one, but I am curious as to whether anybody picked up on a the medicinal/candycane taste. The after taste is mainly IPA, but the other taste still lingers. Interesting. I got a fresh pack of it, maybe yours might have been a little skunky? I enjoyed my 6-pack of it.

I'll never buy it again to find it. It was carbonated properly throughout. I strongly believe that was the actual flavor.

Then you're probably going to leave about 1/4 gallon of trub in the fermenter. It sounds like they missed adding all the water to get it to a full 5G after the boil, but what the heck you end up with a stronger brew. Haha. Exactly. I don't know if you saw my comment from before, but yeah. We totally mis-measured the water. All aboard the fail boat.

Just picked up this bastard in the liquor store: http://pcdn.500px.net/3060498/ebb0cbe5bf8d1c48050271b2fe2d3540c7fb55ab/4.jpgYes, I'll fully admit I bought it just for the FUCKING CERAMIC GOBLET!!! No idea what the beer tastes like yet. Ranges from 6% to 8% to 10% ABV.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
Nice! I hope we get those gift packs. We had it last year but with a normal glass chalice. All those beers are really quite good if you like the abbey/trappist style of beer.
As for the Rogue Yellow Snow. I also have no idea what you are talking about Stormland brother! I thought it was really a well balanced, tasty, while perhaps a little underwhelming IPA.
So did anyone here manage to get the WESTVLETEREN fucking 12? I haven't been around in a few days but it looks like we all missed out?

As far as I remember Yellow Snow is a good solid IPA. I don’t buy it often though, because I have a lot of better options in the same price range.

I really didn't think so at the time, I mean it's basically christmas and a new 6'er comes out and it just so happens to have a candycane aftertaste. Now I look like a freak, lol. I really hope I get to have that bottle herra saved for me to help me clear my sanity.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
Here's a bunch of new ones I've picked up off of the shelves recently... Wasn't really a fan of this. Gave it a 5/10. Nothing special Considering the last one, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It make sense why it sold out faster than the other bottle. It was good. I gave it an 8/10. First solid beer I've ever had that actually tasted like pears. Had that nice oak aged bourbon taste too. I can't find the image, but it's 'Oak Aged Bourbon - VSOP' I haven't tried the below as of yet... Nogne - Porter Nogne - Tiger Triple Nogne - Underlig Jul I got to try a friends homebrews. I was ridiculous surprised at how good he made those beers. Blasphomet may want to listen in on this one... He made a Black Millipede Imperial Cascadian Ale. It was fucking phenomenal. Reminded me exactly of Flying Monkey's version of the Dark Cascadian Ale, but with a twist of the imperial touch. Was at least 8% abv and I just kept cringing as I thought of it being a simple home brew. I'm going to join him a couple Saturday's from now to lean how to make it. I'll be passing that information down to Herra too of course, and whoever else cares. lol He also made a Fresh Hoped Pale Ale. It was almost perfect if you ask me. It had lots of sediment (I was warned, but forgot) but that didn't matter. Still tasted great and I didn't get that really back of the throat dry taste that one usually gets with an abundance of sediment. The reason I say this was almost perfect is because it had all the characters of an ipa, but without the uber bitter aftertaste. I couldn't pin-point whether it be closer to a west coast or easch coast approach, but that didn't matter to me. Had all the citrusy flavors and aromas one may pick up on when dealing with an ipa. I really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed this on the weekend. It's been a while, but I managed to pick up on some flavors in some of them that I had never picked up on before. There were far more winter spice flavors than I remember in the Heather Ale. The pine was drank at room temperature and as per usual, perfection! I've seen a couple mix packs with a different bottle inside. Might be a pleasant surprise one day to see that over here in Toronto. Just sayin...

Does he do all-grain or partial-mashes? I've seen those Historic Ales around, and I keep looking for the one that has the Seaweed beer in it and I can't seem to find it.
