Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
I picked up a 12 pack of this old stand by for tonight. I am making pulled pork, and have some friends coming over for meat and metal. I told them that they all need to bring a 6 pack more than they plan to drink, and that whatever beer they bring has to be darker than my piss. Hopefully I will have a variety of fine brews in my fridge by the end of the night.

As well, they had bombers of Rogue's Dead Guy Pale Ale. Nice. So THAT is why there have been no Dead Guy six packs coming in! Dead Guy is my favourite, or at least in my top 5 beer that has been available at the LCBO, so it's nice to see they at least have the bombers now, instead of six packs for almost $16. Favourite of mine as well, but boy did I feel like an idiot everytime I picked up a 6-pack for that price knowing what it goes for across the border.

I think I'm actually going to pick it up, it sounds delightful. Ya I read about that months back, but that price is way too fucking steep. Supposedly it's supposed to be one of the best beers in the world. So you're trying to talk me into spending money I don't have eh? Pfft, FINE! lol... nope, still hoping to hear back from mandypants and Herra I don't make decisions for you! I just influence them apparently.

As for the new bottles of Dead Guy. I picked two up at lunch and look forward to they being super fresh. I feel like the remaining 6 packs and the the ones I've bought over the past few months have been sitting around the backs of LCBO's for who knows how long.
My haul this afternoon:
2 Rogue Dead Guy 2 Red Racer IPA 2 Tripel Karmeliet 1 Great Lakes Winter Ale 4 pack Peche Mortel Nice haul. I really wanna get some more of that Karmeliet, but I think it's sold out around here. How does that Peche taste anyhow? Never had a chance to try it yet.

Other than the Nogne O that was around last year (but not this year, FUCK! Still got one bottle though ) I had one last night and with even a hard pour, it poured quite dead. There was really no head on it at all which is not what i remember from last year. It still tasted exceptional, but i expect it to get even more interesting with a bit of age.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
So I ran to the LCBO yesterday and scored a pretty wicked find. A single bottle of this. The bottle I have has a different label on it because LCBO wouldn't let the beer in because of this label saying Elixir on it and Elixir relates to medicine. Then got a Beau's 4 pack mixer. Belgian Pale Ale Screamin' Beaver DIPA Patio Saison Matt's Sleepy Time Imperial Belgian Stout.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
It's been about two years since I've had this one. Back then it was the last bottle on the shelf and there was sediment at the bottom. The sediment was so overpowering last year that when I opened it this year I poured out the last little bit just in case. Didn't appear to have as much as I remember. It was what it was. A blackberry porter. It matched the viscosity of a porter. The front end was blackberry, but the aftertaste was more of a bitter blackberry skin/peel taste. It would have been better with higher alcohol content. It wasn't too sweet or too fruity like one may have expected. I could see this being turned into a very interesting blackberry imperial stout. No joke. It would work.
