Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
This just in. Uber late for halloween though. I decided not to pick it up because i'm not really a golden ale kind of guy. Or at least I am continuously led to believe so. The picture of the actual beer seems to be drawing me in though and it's 9% abv? Damn, do I really have to rethink this? picture after poured: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ql7167bc2gw/T ... %2BAle.JPG

This also just came back. By far my favorite of the Lug Tred series.

Stormland wrote: herra_af_lik wrote: Well here is the picture of my 2nd home brew beer. Looks pretty damn good. It looks like a dark amber going on a Red/brown colour. It is very clear, can see my full hand through it. Nice head white head on it, disappears fairly fast but it tastes very nice and smooth going down. Has a bit of a fruit and malt character to it. Looks awesome dude. I think we should set that date. You're the mentor, lol. When's your plan to brew the next batch? Well I got something brewing right now, and waiting until I can get back up to the brew store and then I will have all the ingredients to begin brewing. Maybe in a few weeks this can be set up. That Lug Tread Bog Water is a very nice brew. Very very unique that's for sure. Quality.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
Picked up a sixer of this last night and proceded to drink a couple. Enjoyed it, but wasn't really wowed by it. The second one was better then the first though, so I'll stay open minded about it next time I have one. I didn't get nearly as much head with my pour as the one pictured here, and what there was dissipated quickly.

My wife is gone for the rest of the week, so I decided to eat cheap pasta and spend most of the grocery money on expensive beer. I picked up a 4 pack of this, and have to say that Birdog was correct. Even just for 4 of them, it is well worth the 20 dollar price tag. Awesome beer, and it’s 12% abv. I also grabed a 4 pack of this. It's a good Barley Wine, and I get it a couple times a year.

I've been wanting to try this but haven't quite been able to justify the price tag on a blind buy. Given what I've heard about it on here and from a few other people, and the fact that Founders fucking rules, I should probably just go for it.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
I was in the same boat, but I trust Birdog and he gave it the Ok. It’s a great beer, and you should get it while you can. It always hurts to spend that much money on 4 fucking beers, but at 12% many people could probably get tanked off of just the 4.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
As of last week the store I buy most of my beer at still had it in stock, so I'll probably try and pick it up next time I'm in there. If I'm successful I'll report back here, with what I expect to words of praise and satisfaction.

BTW guys, a heads-up that I saw Peche Mortel in the Yonge/Davis LCBO today, and it's on the website. I know this is huge for some of you, so make sure to stock up!
As well, they had bombers of Rogue's Dead Guy Pale Ale.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
Did anyone see the article (in the Star, i think) about the Westvleteren 12 being available in LCBO? It's a trappist beer never exported before, or really ever sold unless you go to the monastery. It's $75 for a 6 pack, with two glasses. I think I'm actually going to pick it up, it sounds delightful.

As well, they had bombers of Rogue's Dead Guy Pale Ale. Nice. So THAT is why there have been no Dead Guy six packs coming in! Dead Guy is my favourite, or at least in my top 5 beer that has been available at the LCBO, so it's nice to see they at least have the bombers now, instead of six packs for almost $16.

I am already nervous that I will somehow miss out and they will sell out before i get my hands on them. The article is saying he is guessing December 12th (12/12/12) as the shelving date.

I saw the bombers and I still have six packs of this stuff at my Avenue and Lawrence location. I actually prefer that they will be selling them in bombers from now on. I would like to believe they are more affordable, but paying a large amount of money for a single large bottle makes more sense to me. The six pack was way too overpriced. $14.95 should be max.

I'm still broke because of my car accident. I feel like that will still be the case in a couple of weeks when this is released. Would really help me out.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
If it is as good as everyone seems to think (highest rated beer on Ratebeer and second highest on Beeradvocate), then i will be saving a few for many years to come. IF i don't miss out. I need to be on top of this shit and start looking every day just in case.
As for the new bottles of Dead Guy. I picked two up at lunch and look forward to they being super fresh. I feel like the remaining 6 packs and the the ones I've bought over the past few months have been sitting around the backs of LCBO's for who knows how long.
My haul this afternoon:
2 Rogue Dead Guy 2 Red Racer IPA 2 Tripel Karmeliet 1 Great Lakes Winter Ale 4 pack Peche Mortel
