It's also one of the beers Founders produces year round, so it should be available sooner or later.

Unless you guys are getting shafted on it. In that case then panic, and get it

I've heard rumours over on the bartowel that Centennial is going to be on the LCBO general list. Should be getting lots distributed soon.

Had this the other night. Still one of my favourite beers but I hadn't had it a while. A classic, and the best of it's style.

The one i will be picking up more of. It wasn't too over the top, which is what i loved, it was a nice, strong, and surprisingly hoppy american ale. I really liked it a lot, and think it could be dangerous, as it's 8.5% is masked well, and it's flavour is not too complex and could make it quite sessionable.

Image

-

And I'm drinking this one right now, and it may be one of the nicest brews I've had in a while. It's almost perfect to me. Very roasty smell, with some molasses and coffee, not a ton of chocolate for me surprisingly, (Maybe due to aging it since last summer). The taste is great, almost a smokey woody taste with hints of chocolate and roasted coffee. Very roasty aftertaste. Nothing to crazy or over the top, which I love. Excellent. And I'm sad i drank my only bottle. I will be going to upstate NY again in the coming months, so i hope to get this again, along with more Stone RIS, as i am dying to drink the bottle i have.

Is that Schneider Weisse available at the lcbo? I don't see it listed.

I made it out to the Newmarket location today and managed to pick up the Rogue Brutal IPA, which is odd considering when I bought it it wasn't listed as being at that store. Anywho, haven't had it in about 3-4 years so I'm psyched to try it again. Also, when I was there they had the Phillips Hop Circle IPA, but I didn't bite as I haven't heard too much about it yet. I also made it out to the other Newmarket location and got the Patrick Irish Red Ale from Beau's. At the time they had tags in place for the Founders and Phillips, so any moment now they'll be in my area.

It's under Aventinus. The one in my photo is the new label.

http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo-ear/lcbo/produ ... anguage=EN

It's weird though, the site doesn't have it stocked in Brooklin, which is where i always get it, and they've had it for a couple years now, easily, all the time it seems. Odd.

I'm looking mighty forward to those Goose Islands (Maybe they will change your mind abotu Saisons, don't be afraid, try them. :) )

EDIT: actually those aren't the saison ones i thought we were getting... I thought we were getting a couple from Goose Island. Perhaps it is a feature and we'll be getting four brews.

Actually we are getting the ones you originally thought of. I looked them up, and one is definitely a saison.

As far as the Schneider Weisse goes, I'm pretty sure I've seen it around but have just never grabbed it for whatever reason. Unfortunately, it's knowhere near me.

I was eyeing that Irish one last night when I was at the Yonge and Summerhill LCBO location. I grabbed the two things I've posted below. I'm not a hard knock NickelBrook Brewery fan, but they did so well with the Cuvée last December that I'm willing to try their Maple Porter edition. It even has the melted candle wax finish on the cap that their Cuvée brew had.I had the Phillips Hop Circle last night. Drank about 3 of them. It's a filtered West Coast IPA. The filtered approach definitely had a huge impact on the crisp taste that hits you while your sucking it back. No complaints. 6.5% abv.

As much as I love this list, it puts the lack of money that I will soon no longer have in my bank account into words. lol

It's a good beer; however, if you're thinking about making a long drive for it I don't believe it's worth it. That's my two cents at least.

That Nickel Brook Maple Porter i will try, but i won't be happy at that price unless it's very very good... since it's only 6%. :) No need for that price or wax dipped bottle for that beer. Paying for packaging alone.

Lemme know the Maple Porter is. I'm holding off until I know it's worth the money, kinda expensive. Also, is that IPA comparable to any other?

So I set to grab some Founders and the right 6 packs that were shown on the set were sold out at the Whitby location already lol. They did have the green flash west coast ops though, and its fresh. My 4 pack was bottled mid-February.

I m hoping the founders will be at more locations tomorrow and over the weekend.

Who makes that one? I have never seen it around here before. I do still have a bottle of Goose Island Bourbon Barrel aged stout in the fridge though. It’s been ageing for several months, and at close to 15% ABV I think that that might make it taste a bit different than the three that I drank when I bought the 4 pack.

This is that Kentucky brew... http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/430/87418

As far as the Bourbon County goes, I've aged bottles for up to a year, and the Bourbon flavor only mellows with time. If you thought that the Whiskey flavor was too in your face while fresh, you'll enjoy the aged ones more. I prefer them fresh, personally.

I see they have the Founders at my one location, so I'm off later to get it. Can't fucking wait.

Call them and ask them to put some on hold for you! Otherwise don't get your hopes up, you may be disapointed. I did the same thing yesterday and when i got there they were gone.

Although now the site says there are still 4 at the Whitby location, which means the website is wrong, or the dude was an idiot lol.

I just called the LC near my work and they are holding a couple 6 packs for me juuuuuuust in case, since i don't know how much is actually being distrusted up here.

I've been doing this with Southern Tier black water beers... In desperate hope that the Creme Brulee one will get less fuckin' sweet. So sweet, and I bought too bottles, so after the first one... this is my hope.

The Choklat seemed to actually mellow a bit and and wasn't as super sweet... so that was nice.

I'll get back to you all. I'm trying it tonight. Also, I see how a lot of people are talking about costs for beers etc. It's funny, I used to think the same way... AS I should. I guess since I've been beer reviewing, I basically don't even look at the price anymore as long as I know I get to try it once and review it once. That's the price I pay unfortunately. It kicks me in the ass, but I guess that's how I roll. lol

only the price of certain beers. I don't see how that Nickel Brook is only a buck less than their Cuvee. That bottle at 6% should be about $6.95.

No real biggie though... i mean, we do get ripped off up here quite badly, especially in regards to our local stuff, but I'll probably still grab it at some point.
