This is the final issue of Unrestrained! It was the issue that Adrian and the U! staff were working on when Adrian passed away in December. I hope that you enjoy it.

That is awesome, thanks for posting. I still found it crazy that the day after I bought issue #38 I found out about Adrian's passing and it just seemed surreal. He's left the metal community with a huge legacy, and I'm glad that this final piece by him gets to see the light of day. Kudos

I am absolutely thrilled that this has finally come out.

I just had to explain to my wife and older son why tears were streaming down my face while sitting at my computer...

Yes, some very nice fine work by all of the U! staff, with Adrian, as is fitting, once again taking the lead with an astounding quantity of interviews.

I must give a special shout-out to our layout artist, Rex, and our copy editor, Rob, who were instrumental in bringing this final issue to fruition under sad and difficult circumstances. Thanks guys!

Thanks to everyone for the compliments on the layout. Adrian loved it for some reason. lol So he actually did get to see it finished (minus a few minor text tweaks). We were only about a day away from it being totally finished before his passing.

Thanks! This was my favorite magazine, it was always perfect for those that followed the underground metal scene, in all its genres and sub-genres. I don't think there will ever be another zine like it, especially in this age where fewer people buy them. Unrestrained had a good healthy run, and now I get to read #39, the final issue!

By the way: I am interested in hearing some comments about my Darkthrone interview. I think that the most recent Darkthrone album in particular was woefully misunderstood by many of its detractors (and not picked up on by many who would likely be interested in what it offers), so I used this interview opportunity as a vehicle to advance that argument (among other things), and it would appear that the esteemed interviewee agreed with my analysis.
