That sucks (not Britney, your situation) have you tried something like Zone Alarm? I think it's free but I'm not too sure if it can kill viruses though. You'll have to crack one if you can't find anything free (or pay for one)... good luck dude.

See, personally I would turn the computer off, and physically disconnect it from the internet, then go to a friend's house, find your virus software, burn it to cd and bring it home to install.

I should be alright, just need to find some anti-virus software. Guess it was inevitable for something like this to happen eventually. I just hope pranksters like this are dealt with immediately.

I have the purchased ZoneAlarm and it does indeed kill viruses...if it is KNOWN to the progam. You can update once it is installed. It won't kill ALL viruses though...

Sorry to break it to you, but it's your'e own fault for:
A: Not having Anit-Virus software in the first place!
B: For clicking random links.

However, most of us have probably learned the hard way at some point, so yeah dude, the situation sucks, but DO NOT EVER click random links that some retard spammer posts on a fucking website.

I'm sure youv'e learned your lesson, so go to the site K.G. Satan gave you, and get it all cleaned up.

Although, you coulod be totally screwed, and that site may not even be able to save you, and if that's the case, have fun formatting and reinstalling everything.

Also, try AVG antivirus, it's free as well, and has saved me alot of problems in the past

Apparently after Jan. 15, AVG has to be purchased (according to the pop-up notice that appeared on my screen last week).

It could easily of happened to any unprotected computer, but it was careless of me not to already have anti virus software ahead of time. Stupid mistakes are authorized by all of us at some point, and I should hope that such an instance won't ever again happen to any of us.

i use no virus scanner, and have no problems

and i know with internet explorer it always asks you specifically if you want to run programs and warns you it might not be safe.

It's all about knowing which websites/companies to trust

I'll bet that's not the first "backdoor" virus you've had. You should have learned by now to always use protection.
