dilbert cracks me up, but i've never worked in an office. i dated an engineer for a little over half a year and after hearing him bitch about work i realized how alot of those jokes.. arent even really jokes. they're true to life. it was saddening, and a little scary.

Incompetence really pisses me the fuck off. I have a low tolerance for bullshit like this.

I don't deal with it well personally. Mistakes are allowed but people got to be able to learn from them. So many do not. Nor do many operate with much common sense. Competence really requires only those two things, and maybe some good listening skills. I can bite my tongue sometimes so as not to upset the ship.

I just found out one of my childhood friends is a manager of HR within the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and is despised for being a moron with the personal skills of a wet sock!

We are all incompetent at something! Who know maybe somewhere out there on the internets people are posting about your inadequacies.

I manage the tech database that our tech support department uses (meaning: relies upon) to answer phone calls. They email us about the site all the time with content questions, corrections, etc. But sometimes, like this morning, they ask these mind-bogglingly stupid questions that make me wonder how they didn't just wander into traffic one day, let alone act as product experts for our company.

Incompetence and apathy in the workplace are best taken for granted. What irks me these days is that they actually seem to be qualities that get people promoted!

i.e. if this douchebag can't merchandise our product for shit, works too slowly, makes a mess, irritates our customers... why not promote him to sales, where we can brainwash him to lie and cheat to get ahead and he won't leave (as much of) a trail of disgruntled and frustrated clients in his wake...

I've seen several co-workers who were considered among our best in the merchandising part of the company decide to simply start slacking in order to move up - and it has worked!

Agh, that was so me when I had my first job at fifteen. At one of my last jobs I worked with a bunch of guys who were like that. They'd do almost nothing and then we'd all look like assholes for it. I hate people who don't do their job and still take the money. Lousy fuckers.
