I also love Enslaved. All of their albums are great, besides Vertebrae (yuck).

Novembre used to be mentioned on par with Katatonia, My Dying Bride, Amophis, Anathema, Sentenced, et al.
I don't think I've heard them mentioned in about five years.

Both albums I've listened to so far today only have two songs, and are between 33-38 minutes long

fun read! but as i am sure you know, dickinson had no song writting credits on SIT not 'minimal' as you stated. also 'the clairvoyant' is in 4/4 not 6/8. *nerd

I don't think I've heard them mentioned in about five years. Wow, forgot all about that band.

Everything they've put out since Classica is incredible, though. Always wondered what the fuck happened to them after The Blue. If they got over here for some touring and got the right push they could be a lot bigger than they are. In other news, I've always had trouble getting into Moss, and this new record seems to be no exception. They just sound like a shitty Yob now.

'Sacrifice to the Elves' is a song that Enslaved should play live some day

I've noticed there's been a lot of talk about Napalm Death, Gorguts, and Voivod here as of late.

Re-visiting some Dream Theater albums that I have not spun in awhile (Octavarium, Systematic Chaos, and BC&SL). And I am diggin' 'em.
DT are just one of those bands that you need to block out some time for and really let it sink in....good stuff.

I've listened to more death metal in the last 3 months than in the last 15yrs collectively. This is my year of true awakening to the genre.

That happened with me when I started really getting into black metal about 9 years ago. It's all I listened to basically for 6-7 months. I was devouring anything black I could get my hands on at the time.
