I used to get baked with a hardcore Phish fan back in high school all the time. Even while I was stoned, I couldn't stand their music, even though I tried to get into it. Hippies kick ass. I made a thread here once about how I think the world could benefit from a hippie resurgence. I still stand by that, even though everyone here thought I was on crack. There's just a certain elitist attitude that Grateful Dead fans exhibit. They'll get very offended and defensive if you try to offer any sort of criticism towards them.

Re: Random Metal Thoughts-*If Thoughts Could Kill*
Well, this may make me the least popular poster on this board but... I don't think I understand death metal. Because of the last few year's of the best of threads I've usually bought one or two of the most hailed albums that are death metal and I jsut keep thinking, "This is it?" Examples: Asphyx - Deathhammer Hail of Bullets - (What ever the latest release is) And even other bands that are so well regarded ie. Bolt Thrower, early Morbid Angel all just leave me a little underwhelmed. They seem tame and kind of boring. I enjoy Cannibal Corpse and even some tech death metal - Omnivium, Necrophagist and Nile (even if they aren't technically tech death). Maybe it's jsut that I come to it from having explroed the more extreme bands and think where's the heavy double kicks, blast beats, kick ass guitar solos. It's not that I don't enjoy the Aspyhx or even Hail of Bullets and I kind of took to BolT Thrower after awhile, but I feel like I don't get why these bands are hailed as much as they are. As for Morbid Angel, they just do nothing for me other than Where the Slime Live.

TheSteakStyles 3 months ago Awful. I came here expecting a parody video. Instead, I get an actual Phish concert. Thanks for wasting my time

Re: Random Metal Thoughts-*If Thoughts Could Kill*
tired of long, stupid intro's on CD's. Once in awhile, they ARE great and fit, but............ It's getting to the point, i'm driving, throw a CD in the deck, and automatically skip to track 2 just to be safe. Nothing pisses me off more than listening for like 3 minutes to a bunch of nothing and then it ends and starts the second song. I'm thinking "goddamn it - i could have skipped that 3 minutes ago"

I miss Devin Townsend's skullet. And Dallas Toler-Wade's.

I keep waiting for something to click every time I listen to it, but I'm getting nothing. Hopefully the time spent with Shrinebuilder didn't through him off his game.

I don't really think that any of the others stand out at all. I might throw one of the first two on later though, you have gotten me in the mood for their goofy brand of blackend thrash.

WTF you talkin' about The first two albums and the Witchburner EP are awesome. The rest is ok, but average, and not worth going back to years after the fact. Just my opinion of course, but they don't do a whole lot for me.

Re: Random Metal Thoughts-*If Thoughts Could Kill*
I've only heard Restless & Dead and Witchburner. I did a quick Amazon and eBay search, and apparently Dead, Hot and Ready goes for quite a bit of money. Might be going a different route with that one.
