Sometimes I like to imagine how Burnt Offerings would sound if Warrel Dane was the singer.

I imagine that would be not remotely as cool.

Re: Random Metal Thoughts-*If Thoughts Could Kill*
Probably. On another note, this post made me want to listen to that album again and since my old copy was fucked up, I bought a brand new copy of the remastered album (which is apparently the only one you can get now) and I'm playing it for the first time. It sucks. It's horrible. What's the problem with all this reverb and shit? I want my old copy back I hate it when they change too much stuff in the remastering. That album was just fine the way it was.

Re: Random Metal Thoughts-*If Thoughts Could Kill*
Yeah I never bought any of those. But I had no idea that they fucked with the sound. I just wouldn't buy them because the new artwork was fucking atrocious.

Re: Random Metal Thoughts-*If Thoughts Could Kill*
Actually, I struggled to get the vinyl replica with the original artwork because I couldn't stand the atrocious artwork. That one came with a bonus disc which is supposed to be a "rough mix" or whatever. I really hope it's better than the remastered edition because I swear it's fucking ridiculous. Easily the worst remastering job I've heard since Rust In Peace.

Can't sleep. Maybe I should listen to Ghost. That should solve that problem.

Re: Random Metal Thoughts-*If Thoughts Could Kill*
The new covers EP by Anthrax is nothing special. The choice of songs is a little head scratching and as with most 'Thrax covers, they try to play it like the original which just makes sound like a cover band rather than a metal band covering a classic song.

The 'problem' with 'metal' aren't the bands/labels, it's the supposed 'fans'.

TheFinalSleep wrote: The 'problem' with 'metal' aren't the bands/labels, it's the supposed 'fans'. Is there really a "problem" with metal? Seriously, I think this is just a perception that people have when they hit a certain age or something. Metal is fine. Just look at how many great releases we had last year and how 2013 is starting to take shape. What "problem" are you on about?

Re: Random Metal Thoughts-*If Thoughts Could Kill*
There are way too many to even bother mentioning, however, I suppose this time around is more of a reaction to what I've been reading about Soilwork's latest. People complaining that it's 'too catchy', 'too much', 'too poppy', etc. C'mon now...
Here's a band that, for the most part, haven't changed a whole helluva lot over the years and just finished releasing their strongest material in years, and people are complaining that it's 'too much'?

I gotta admit...I did not see the Soilwork argument coming.

Re: Random Metal Thoughts-*If Thoughts Could Kill*
Kamelot's The Black Halo is still amazing. It's really the only album by this band I listen to. Didn't care much for the early stuff and whatever the last album with Roy appeared on was OK. But The Black Halo gets me pumped and on occasion I sing along as if I were on stage as some fruity power metal singer.

Re: Random Metal Thoughts-*If Thoughts Could Kill*
I know it's good sport to crap on Six Feet Under but man, this band has delivered two good albums in a row with Undead and Unborn. I think some metalheads would be pleasantly surprised if they gave some time and spun these records.

Old Green Day (see ''Dookie'' or ''Insomniac'') is alright.
