 ARES KINGDOM - VENERATION
Finally. The Ares Kingdom album Veneration is at last going to see the light of day. It features covers from such cult bands as Slaughter Lord, Sacrilege (UK), and Mefisto. Full album stream can be heard here: http://nuclearwarnowproductions.bandcam ... veneration

 Re: ARES KINGDOM - VENERATION
Are you kidding? Yeah, but it's a cover album of some of their influences, including cult bands!

 Re: ARES KINGDOM - VENERATION
I'd rather have an album of originals, but this is Ares Kingdom, so pretty much a guaranteed blind buy.

Your loss! Production is full and excellent! This is a nice tide-me-over until their next full-length of original material!

You know... I've never given these guys much of a shot. I've heard some of them but I just never got back to it. Probably something i should do.

I think that you would probably like them quite a bit. I rank them right up there with Destroyer 666, as far as top bands in this style go. As for the cover album, I don’t know. I have a few of these, and don’t normally listen to them very often. I might buy it if I were to see it in a store, but I probably won’t go out of my way to get it. I ordered the last one directly from the band, and ordered a shirt too. I don’t see myself taking the time to make a one album order for a bunch of covers though. Too much good original stuff out there to check out.

Yeah....I could really give a fuck about this. These guys are getting old and they take too long to do an album. I dunno if we're gonna see another one from these guys

I am not saying that they are better, and they certainly aren’t as prolific. I just think they are one of the few bands in that style who’s best material is on the same level with the best Destroyer 666 stuff. Others may disagree, but I think that the band is very well regarded by a few other people on this board.

I like it. Was not expecting them to cover Die By Power.

Yeah I can't say I've ever given a shit about any cover albums. Napalm Death's, Vader's, Metallica's, Slayer's, Iced Earth's, etc etc. Count me in the JUSTGIVEMEAFUCKINGNEWLP crowd.

No, I got that, but it just doesn't make sense to me based on your reply that cover albums are just like live albums. You generalized. Live After Death is "meh?!" Made in Japan is "meh?!" The Song Remains the Same is "meh?!" *insert whatever band you like here with a live album* Do I really need to go on? That left my jaw scraping the floor that only a bulldozer could put back into place.

I like to hear a band that I like cover several of their influences if they are faithful to the original and don't try to put their own spin on it. AK has done that with Veneration in spades. I really dig Vader's Future of the Past, too, for example. I guess I'm just a loner on this message board with this excitement.

Well, I am pretty sure that you are Ares Kingdom’s biggest fan, so it makes sense. Not that that’s a bad thing, just look the thread and you can tell that most of us love these guys. It’s just hard to get really excited about a full length of covers. I like cover songs, but I prefer them in smaller doses. Something like an EP with two new songs and a few covers is perfect for me. Something like this is usual the kind of thing that is cool to hear a couple of times, but brings little ongoing enjoyment.

Well I've never even heard of R U DEAD? before, so this is kind of like a new song... not too indecent, either http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Umds5wysSFU
