Post AC/DC heavily rumored to be retiring
A "sad detail" may be alluding to the legendary Australian band calling it a day according to this link.

:(

I read earlier this year they were considering doing another album.

I could have sworn hearing when Black Ice was released that it was going to be their last.

Maybe the new one will just be an EP or something.

But I recall them saying they'd do a 40 date tour this year to celebrate 40 years of their music.

Mainly a fan of the Bon Scott era (though to be fair, a bunch of Brian's albums are killer too.)

It's sad to hear, but at the same time, they've put their entire lives into that band, so they deserve it. Might as well take it easy and live it up for a while before they all start dying of old age.

I've been hearing some very sad details about this - hopefully it's not true.

An end of an era. :( At least they went out on a high note with Black Ice.

Whatever the "sad detail" is, I can't begrudge a legendary band for calling it a day after a great run. I hope they enjoy their retirement.

From what I've heard, Malcolm has suffered a blood clot on the brain, and no longer remembers how to play the guitar.

Man, what a terrible shame.

Honestly, I'm a little surprised we don't hear more stories like this, as our rock heroes grow older. It's amazing so many of them can continue playing at such a high level in these advancing years.

I would be OK if it was their decision to retire, but the fact they have to do it because Malcolm had a stroke is just goddamned depressing.

Yep, I was planning on taking my boys to see them after the recording of the new album. I know AC/DC is really Malcolm's band, and I know they will not continue without him. He's really the meat and potatoes of the band....such a sad sad day for me personally.

Yep. From http://theorstrahyun.blogspot.com.au/20 ... -2014.html :

Quote:
About 3 weeks ago, founding member, rhythm guitarist, co-producer and co-songwriter Malcolm Young had a stroke, which left a blood clot on his brain.

When AC/DC reunited at the start of April to begin a month of rehearsals, in the lead-up to new album recording sessions, Malcolm discovered he couldn't play. At least, he couldn't play like he used to play.

Nothing has been officially confirmed, as of this writing, but friends and family members have been discussing what happened to Malcolm for the past couple of weeks. The blood clot, resulting from the stroke, is believed to be why Malcolm couldn't keep working.

Although friends have described Malcolm's condition as serious, it doesn't mean he won't recover. People do get better after strokes, and people do recover lost skills.

But friends and family of band members believe the decision was made last week to call it quits.

Sad to see them go, but they probably could have retired ten or fifteen years ago and it would have felt somewhat appropriate. Guess they really do just love to rock.
